Henriette comes from Venice. She is married to the duke of Grimani (eventually), who is extremely rich, talented, influential, and respected. And also a man who will disregard any trace of honour to get whatever he wants.
She has two children with him, them she adores. She's faithful to him to the day he dies.
But the man she loves is the greatest adventurer, who never had her. Giacomo Casanova. She would do anything for him, for love, and for guilt because she betrayed him in marrying while he was in prison - because Grimani put him there to get her.
